Hello and welcome! I’m Susan, a 60-something woman who’s finally traded in the fast-paced world of corporate life for a slower, more fulfilling rhythm at home. After decades of hard work, I’ve decided it’s time to enjoy the things that truly bring me joy—traveling, raising chickens, decorating, and most of all, savoring the home I’ve worked so hard to create.

Now that I’m home more, life feels richer in so many ways. My husband, Mark, and I have been married for 14 wonderful years. Between us, we have 4 amazing grown children and 10 beautiful grandchildren who light up our lives. Oh, and let’s not forget our three doodle-dogs, who keep us laughing and on our toes!

Finding New Joys in Everyday Life

With this new chapter, I’ve rediscovered simple joys—like visiting with family and friends, taking on creative projects, and even planning my own raised-bed garden. I’ve always been passionate about living self-sufficiently, and I’m excited to share the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way. From growing your own vegetables to making your kitchen a gluten-free haven, there’s so much to explore!

As someone with food allergies, finding recipes that are safe and delicious has been a lifelong journey. Over the years, I’ve perfected many tried-and-true recipes that keep me healthy and happy, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Whether you’re new to gluten-free cooking or a seasoned pro, I hope my recipes inspire you to try something new in your kitchen!

A New Adventure: Building Our Dream Farmhouse

One of the most exciting parts of this new season in life is the adventure Mark and I are about to embark on: building our very own farmhouse! We recently purchased land, and now we’re deep in the search for the perfect house plans. This will be our first-ever build from the ground up, and we’re beyond thrilled to see our dream home come to life.

Along the way, we’ll be restoring furniture, buying new pieces, and adding all those personal touches that make a house feel like home. I’ll be sharing every step of the journey with you—right from the foundation to the finishing touches. Whether it’s designing cozy spaces or navigating the ups and downs of a custom build, I’m excited to take you along with us on this adventure.
